Richard Rosenbaum Gives Inside Look at 40 Years of GOP Politics in New Book
Richard Rosenbaum, a central figure in Republican politics in New York and nationally for decades, offers firsthand insights to behind-the-scenes events that have been the backbone of history the past half century in his new book: No Room for Democracy: The Triumph of Ego Over Common Sense, published by RIT Press. Beginning with a foreword by Henry A. Kissinger, No Room For Democracy walks readers through Rosenbaum’s unique life—which started in 1931 as a Jewish boy growing up in a predominately gentile community and suffering from the rare disease alopecia (the premature loss of hair). The book takes readers through Rosenbaum’s time as a college boxing star to Nelson Rockefeller’s right hand man and an integral part of the Republican Party nationally. Read the press release here.
Davila biography chosen for Deaf America Reads
At the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., the National Literary Society of the Deaf (NLSD) announced "Moments of Truth: Robert R. Davila, the Story of a Deaf Leader" as the 2008-10 selection for the "Deaf America Reads, One Book, One Community" program. This is a two-year reading project where the mission is to promote the deaf culture, books and literacy through programs at libraries. Read more about NLSD.

Images from Science slated for Fall 2008 opening
Images from Science 2008 will be a showcase of photographs made in the pursuit of scientific information. The submitted images must be created for the purpose of recording scientific and engineering research or images from other related fields such as oceanography, geology, biology, engineering, medicine, physics, or other related disciplines. CEO Arunas Chesonis hits the Amazon list with It Isn’t Business, It’s Personal
It Isn’t Just Business . . . kicks off the First Person Corporate Profile Series for Cary Graphic Arts Press at Rochester Institute of Technology. The book’s foreward, written by RIT President Albert Simone, reflects on Chesonis as an entrepreneur, community leader and RIT trustee. Last April, RIT’s E. Philip Saunders College of Business named Chesonis as recipient of the 2006 Herbert W. Vanden Brul Entrepreneurial Award. Read the press release
Press finds new home in Lawson Publishing Center
RIT's Cary Graphic Arts Press will move into its new home next month. The ceremonial unveiling of the Alexander S. Lawson Publishing Center will be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m., Thursday, May 10. The newly renovated space on the second floor of Wallace Library will feature an exhibition gallery, a sales area for press titles, office space and expanded production offices. Read the News Release

RIT’s Bevier Gallery Debuts Landmark American Posters and Companion Book, Sept. 9
Business executive at Twentieth Century Fox, Mark Resnick, has a passion for collecting posters. The first American poster he purchased was by renowned designer Dorothy Waugh, created in 1934 to promote the national park systems. Now, 15 years later, Resnick and his wife, Maura, have assembled what may be the largest collection of American posters——panning from 1890 to the present, outside of the Smithsonian Institution.
